The WEBER Seafood Wood Chip Mix is made from hardwood and fruit chips and has a mild, fruity aroma and is best suited for smoking salmon, mackerel, prawns and other seafood.
The chips should be soaked in water before use. It is recommended to soak the shavings for at least 20-30 minutes before smoking, but you will get much better flavour results if you leave the shavings to soak overnight. This way, the moisture, which is well absorbed, will prevent the chips from burning quickly and the flavour will be able to develop slowly.
WEBER Seafood Wood Chip Mix can be used in combination with a smoking box or smoking cylinder. The WEBER Seafood Wood Chip Mix, soaked in water, should be placed directly on the embers or coals.
You can use the wood shavings for smoking in smokers as well as on gas, charcoal and electric grills.
